Veneers as an Alternative to Orthodontics

Crown lengthening Laser Gingival Surgery & Porcelain Veneers

Susan before her periodontal laser and cosmetic makeover. Note that with a relaxed lip, the gum still shows and the edge of the teeth is not visible. These are two of the things Susan wanted corrected about her smile.

Gorgeous Results, "I love my new smile, the improved color of my teeth and the new look of my gums now!"

Susan  before her Periodontal and Porcelain Makeover showing gingival hypertrophy, spacing, lingually inclined central incisors and uneven lengths of front teeth.

Susan's Aluminous Porcelain makeover...
The smile she always wanted ! Notice the correction of the gingival coverage of the original teeth, spacing and uneven alignment of the teeth.

Note the even appearance of the incisal edges, the symmetry of the gum line and the improved color of the teeth. We were able to bring "in" the lateral incisors and bring "out" the central incisors to achieve her goals without the time of orthodontics or the invasiveness of endodontic therapy.

Note the the inward tilt of the two front teeth and the outward tilt of the next two lateral incisors. To correct this without orthodontics or elective root canal therapy was difficult but possible.

Notice that in the extreme smile, the gums were more visible than Susan preferred

If you want a natural and lasting change to your smile while optimizing length, rotations and alignment problems, then Porcelain Restorations can reshape and whiten your teeth and improve your smile dramatically.

Notice the difference in the incisal edge positions of the central incisors and the two lateral incisors next to them.

Notice in the after treatment photo that the edges are corrected giving the illusion that the teeth were orthodontically treated, when in actuality, they were only treated with veneers for this change.

Notice here the spaces between the central and lateral incisors which is called an embrasure. This space is too large and visible. Also note that the teeth appear square due to the extreme amount of gum tissues covering them.

Notice in the corrected situation, the evenness of the incisal edges, the smaller embrasures, and the proper proportion of the length to the width of each front tooth. This is called building the teeth to meet the Golden Proportion Rule of Dentistry.

Susan went from unhappy with her smile to loving her smile in just weeks instead of years. While orthodontics was the ideal way to deal with her dental situation in part, the judicious use of porcelain veneers was an excellent alternative for her with the adjunct of laser periodontal crown lengthening by Dr. Williams.
