Dental Mission
-Reaching
Out-
|
|
Here is one example of what we found in
Morijo. For seven years this osseous tumor has grown on the
maxilla of this Masai woman. We did not have the facility or
means to operate there so we sent her to Kijabe Regional
Hospital for treatment. Kenya Medical Outreach, Inc. covering
the cost of this surgical procedure for her.
|
|
|
Lady with tumor
sent to this
regional hospital four hours away
by automobile
on the way to Nairobi.
|

Tumor of the
Maxilla was 90% bone,
covered by mucosal tissue. The patient's
mandibular closure was hindered and
was displaced to the
right.
|
| |

Our first two
days in Olmekenyu, we worked
well into the dark of night with just flashlights
to complete our treatment on the line of
people who had traveled 5, 10 or 20 km
to be treated by our team of dental personnel.
|

Key members of
the dental team in Olmekenyu
Sheila, Bill, our translator, Karin,
Daniel (a local dental health specialist),
Jeremiah and Alice (a local nurse)
