Olmekenyu Primary School  2005

Hillside Academy Photos

Over 800 students attend the Olmekenyu Primary School. Here the children are lined up for an assembly as we are entertained with song, oral presentations by the teachers, and introductions by the headmaster.

The gifts from the students and churches in the USA are presented by Jennifer Davis of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church.

The children of Olmekenyu Primary School entertained us with songs and received gifts (tooth brushes, tooth paste, floss, pencils and crayons) from the mission team.

Pam Smith, R.N. on her third mission with us to Olmekenyu, brought a gift from her church to the Public Primary School in Olmekenyu

The 2005 view from school, looking back down the valley back at the valley below Olmekenyu. No town center existed prior to the construction of Mercy Clinic. The clinic has spurred growth, hope and jobs. As a matter of fact, the District Commissioner called this region the "Forgotten People" because no paved roads go into the area and not even dirt roads exist past this school setting.

Rain in the afternoon was heavy. Buckets of rain fell as we toured the school to see what progress had been made since our last visit

And the rains poured at Olmekenkyu Primary School right before the school assembly

The library at Olmekenyu Primary School.  Books have been given each year and the results are notable from previous years.

Dr. Williams addressing the students at Olmekenyu Primary School and wishing them well, bidding them to study hard and continue their education on to secondary school.

Historically, one out of
ten have indicated a decision to receive Christ as a direct result of seeing the "JESUS" film.

The 10/40 Window is an area stretching from 10° to 40° north of the equator from West Africa to East Asia. Did you know that 90 percent of all unreached people groups live in this region of the world? The 10/40 Window is identified as having less than 2 percent of their populations as evangelical Christians.
